3 Reasons Why You Might Not Be Living the Life You Desire

Are you striving for your dream life but find yourself hitting roadblocks along the way?

Do you set goals for yourself? Do you have a plan and work towards achieving them?

Do you often find yourself falling short of your aspirations? These are questions many of us grapple with, me included.

Despite our efforts, we may still feel like we’re not living up to our fullest potential.

In this blog post, I delve into three common obstacles that might be hindering your journey towards the life you desire.

Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actions – Dalai Lama

  1. Lack of Clarity – You are not clear with what you REALLY want

Achieving your dreams starts with clarity. If you’re unsure of what you truly want, success becomes elusive.

All I will say is that nothing is impossible, you will be surprised what we as humans can achieve, when we set our minds to something.

Take the time to define your desires clearly. Here’s how:

Journal: Write down your aspirations, whether it’s a detailed plan or just bullet points. This process can bring clarity to your goals.

Rating Goals – Prioritise your desires by rating them. This helps you focus on what truly matters. If you are not sure where to start of what to start with first. See a previous blog and use my Wheel of Life planner to help you.

Take time to dream – set asides some time in a relaxed environment and dream. If this seems too overwhelming, go for a walk, and let your creative thinking juices flow “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them”Walt Disney

Seek Inspiration – Research others who have achieved similar goals. Their journeys can inspire and guide you. Remember it’s your goal or desire and YOUR journey.

2. Uncertainty in Execution – You don’t know HOW to achieve it

Knowing what you want is one thing; knowing how to get there is another. Don’t let uncertainty paralyse you. Here’s what you can do:

Take Action – We can sometimes feel that we need to know and have everything in place before we start and that just isn’t the case. Start where you are, even if you’re uncertain. Progress comes from taking the first step.

Make your dreams, goals, and desires a priority – If you are not making them a priority, then who will?

Break It Down – You don’t need to feel like you have to have a BIG goal or dream, if you do that’s fantastic, the process for a big goal is the same as a smaller goal. Try not to get overwhelmed, divide your goal into smaller, manageable tasks. This makes them less daunting and more achievable.

Share Your Goals – Discussing your aspirations with supportive individuals can boost your motivation and accountability. If you feel that you can share your dream or goal with a friend, without judgement or criticism then that’s a great way to raise your vibration to achieve it. By openly acknowledging that this is what you want you are opening the path to you achieving your goals.

An Example Could BeWanting to be fitter and stronger in your body (not weight loss goal)

Most of what I am going to suggest below is either free or low cost for this particular goal. This may not be the case some other goals, where you might feel money is holding you back. However still putting in plans for receiving or saving the money is important too.  Honestly, money can come from anywhere at any time.

I know that that can sound like I live in the clouds, but I’ve witnessed this for myself many times. When I’ve needed money, it has always come to me, only if I’m putting out the right vibrational feeling and intentions.

Text Box: Here is example for the steps or actions that you would take if you wanted to be fitter and stronger in your body
•	Set a timeline – e.g. 3 months from now I want to be:
o	Stronger with more toned muscles
o	Lift heavier weights
o	Work out for longer
o	Reduce inches on waist and feel more toned and shapelier
•	Start a fitness regime that incorporates weights and strengthening exercises
o	Work with a personal trainer or small group training (less cost & support)
o	Or use YouTube video workout classes
•	Buy equipment - weights (buy second hand online or borrow from a friend if you need to)
•	Use an online fitness APP to keep track of your results
•	Find a buddy to work out with and for accountability

What I wanted to demonstrate with the example above is that if we start to break things down, we can see the wood for the trees, and it starts with taking the first step.

You can also see that there are several ways or options to achieve the outcome and if you find that something doesn’t work for you then make changes, but DO NOT STOP.

If you need to take a break or reevaluate then do that, but if you are determined to achieve your goal you MUST keep going.

3. Self-Sabotage and Fear – You are getting in your OWN way.

Fear often holds us back from pursuing our dreams. Recognise and overcome these mental barriers:

Believe in Yourself: You are worthy of your desires. Banish self-doubt and replace it with self-belief.

Conquer Fear – don’t let fear hold you back or dictate your actions. Push past it with courage and determination.

Stay Persistent – keep your faith, Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither are dreams realised overnight. Stay committed, even when progress feels slow.

My final message to you is – living your dream life is within reach, but it requires clarity, action, and resilience. By overcoming these obstacles, you can move closer to your goals each day. Remember, your journey is unique, so trust your instincts and keep pushing forward one step at a time and know that it might not always be easy, but definitely worth it.

May you embark on your journey with renewed determination and purpose. Your dream life awaits—go claim it!
