Have you ever felt stuck, burnt out, or found yourself asking, “Is this really what I want anymore?”
Please know, I’ve been there. And you’re not broken.
Sometimes, it’s not about doing more. It’s about reconnecting with why you do what you do.
When you know your values, it becomes so much easier to make bold, aligned choices.
Whether you’re pivoting your career, setting new goals, or simply figuring out how you want to spend your days.
If you’re currently questioning whether your career still fits who you are (or who you’re becoming), it may be time to reconnect with your core values.
Why your values matter more than you think
Your values are your inner compass.
When you’re clear on what truly matters, everything else starts to make more sense.
- You feel more confident in your decisions
- You stop people-pleasing and start setting boundaries that feel good
- You gain focus on where to head next in life and work
- You show up more authentically in relationships
As I say in my Core Values Workbook:
“Defining your core values can help make those tough decisions in life, no matter how big or small. It can also provide clarity on your goals and intentions.”
I’ve seen this time and again with the women I coach. When you get clear on what’s right for you, the path ahead starts to feel less foggy and a lot more doable.
My own values journey
I didn’t always feel clear about my direction.
There have been seasons where I felt pulled in too many directions—unsure where to focus, or whether I was still on the right path.
That’s when I decided to revisit my values.
Using the same process I now share in my Core Values Workbook, I started with a list of 10, then narrowed it down to five that, right now really represent who I am and how I want to show up in the world, both professionally and personally.
They’re not fixed forever (and that’s okay!). As someone committed to growth and change, I know they’ll evolve. But for now, they’re a powerful guide for how I live and work.
Let me share them with you.
1. Empowerment
- In my work: I create space for women to reconnect with themselves, speak their truth, and make bold, aligned choices.
- In my life: I try to take action that reflects who I truly am.
👉 I want you to believe you can make lasting changes and elevate your life.
2. Accountability
- In my work: I support clients in showing up for themselves and honouring their commitments.
- In my life: I take responsibility for what matters—and show myself compassion when life happens.
👉 You and I are both accountable for our growth. I’m here to help you take action, even when it’s scary.
3. Growth Mindset
- In my work: I help women see challenges as part of the journey, not reasons to stop.
- In my life: I stay open, keep learning, and trust in the messy middle.
👉 Lifelong learning is what keeps us moving forward—it’s not about being perfect.
4. Be of Value
- In my work: I keep things real and practical, offering support that truly helps.
- In my life: I try to be someone who adds something positive to the day.
👉 I’m here to be of value—not just be visible.
5. Fun
- In my work: I bring humour, warmth, and creativity—even when things get deep.
- In my life: I make space for joy, silliness, and laughter.
👉 Life’s too short not to have fun along the way.
These values are like anchors.
When things feel uncertain, they help me come back to what matters most.
If you’re in a season where things feel off, misaligned, or like you’re just going through the motions—it might not mean something’s wrong. It might just be time to check back in with your values.
